MIAMI - Hurricane Humberto is maintaining its strength far out over the Atlantic.
The Category 1 hurricane has maximum sustained winds Thursday of 85 mph with gradual weakening forecast to begin later in the day.
Humberto is centered about 515 miles northwest of the Cape Verde Islands and is moving north near 15 mph.
Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Gabrielle is moving away from Bermuda after drenching the British territory. The depression's maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph and the U.S. National Hurricane Center says Gabrielle could regain tropical storm strength.
The depression is centered about 190 miles (300 kilometers) west-northwest of Bermuda and is moving northwest near 7 mph.
Forecasters say an area of low pressure over the Bay of Campeche has a high chance - 80 percent - of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next five days.
Another system 500 miles east of the Leeward Islands currently has a low chance - 10 percent - of strengthening.
