LARGO, Fla. - Gov. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) signed four bills into law on Tuesday that will affect Florida’s veterans.

The governor signed the bills at the Armed Forces Military Museum in Largo.

Here is what the four bills will do:

  • * The first bill provides free lifetime annual entry to state parks for parents of military who have died in the line of duty. That also extends to surviving spouses and parents of law enforcement officers and firefighters who have died on the job.
  • * The second bill establishes a Florida Veterans Hall of Fame, which will be located in Tallahassee.
  • * The third bill requires the Division of Forestry to establish specialized hunting areas for veterans on state lands.
  • * The fourth bill allows the state to issue temporary licenses to spouses of active duty military members who work in the medical field. This will allow spouses of active military members to get to work quicker, if they move to Florida.

Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll also attended the bill-signing event.
