WEST PALM BEACH - The office of a prominent West Palm Beach eye was raided following accusations of him providing free trips and underage prostitutes to U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, The Miami Herald reports.
Agents showed up at Dr. Salomon Melgen’s office overnight Tuesday and took potential evidence away in multiple vans.
In addition to allegations of giving free trips and providing underage prostitutes from the Dominican Republic, Melgen has an outstanding lien of $11.1 million for taxes owed from 2006 to 2009, and another IRS lien of $6.2 million for 2011.
Despite the liens, he donated $357,000 to candidates and committees since 1998.
About nine percent of the money went to Menendez campaigns.
