LEE COUNTY - Officials are investigating after a deputy fatally shot a man during a traffic stop in Lee County.

Deputies responded to a large fight involving 25 to 50 people at Cadillic Jack’s on US 41 near Island Park Road, ABC 7 reports.

The law enforcement officers learned that two vehicles fled from the area, and they went after one of the vehicles.

They pulled over the vehicle near US 41 and Alico Road, and that’s when deputies say a man left the vehicle and charged toward the deputies, shooting a gun.

Deputies shot back, killing the suspect. The suspect hasn’t been identified.
