BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A day care van driver has turned herself in after a warrant was issued for manslaughter of a child, according to Delray Beach police.
Amanda Inman, 31, of Boynton Beach, was recently fired from the Katie's Kids Day Care just after the death of 2-year-old Haile Brockington.
2-year-old Haile Brockington was picked up by day care van driver, Amanda Inman on the morning of August 5th but was left inside of the van.
Haile's lifeless body was found by another child still sitting in the seat, nearly six hours later by Inman.
Medics were called to the scene and pronounced Haile dead on arrival. Her cause of death was ruled to be 'systemic hyperthermia' by the medical examiner's office.
Inman was brought in for questioning following the incident.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Inman told detectives that she picked up Haile and her two siblings on the morning of August 5th.
Inman stated she 'thought she had off loaded all of the children'. When asked if she ever checked the van after all the kids get off Inman said, "Well, this morning I didn't. Usually I go try ... I'll look back .. I don't go row by row."
Amanda Inman faces one count of Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child. She is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail.
