TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is doing her part to encourage Floridians to adopt shelter dogs.

Bondi scooped up a shelter dog named Baker at the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday and carried the surprised pup across the room to the laughs and applause of the crowd.

She made a beeline for Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater so he could get a closer look at the puppy.

Baker was at the state Capitol in recognition of “Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.” On each Thursday this month, all shelter dogs over the age of six months are free.

Bondi asked people to consider taking Baker, or any shelter dog, into their homes.
