ORLANDO, Fla. - Although the Florida primary results was widely considered a foregone conclusion - even Newt Gingrich's Florida campaign co-chairman Bill McCollum, was predicting a loss by up to 20 percentage points before polls closed - the atmosphere once Gingrich entered the room was one of determined victory.
Gingrich didn't waste much time on his plans for the "46 states to go" that his campaign was pushing. Instead, the former Speaker of the House concentrated on what he would do as president of the United States.
On his list?
-Signing an executive order banning "czars."
- Opening an embassy in Jerusalem and recognizing the state of Israel.
- Signing an executive order repealing "every anti-religious act" the Obama administration passed.
- Sign a bill allowing the Keystone Pipeline to be built.
And that was just the first 48 hours.
"I may not get in as much golf as Obama, but we'll get in a lot more job creation," he said.
Gingrich supporters laid the blame of tonight's loss on being "out spent," as Orange County Mayor Rich Crotty said.
But despite Mitt Romney going into the next stage of the race for nomination with millions on hand and no debt, Gingrich was positive.
"We'll have people power beat money power," he said.
Of course, that didn't stop his campaign from issuing just one Tweet after the polls closed: "46 States to Go! Donate today and help us defeat Obamneycare."
