FORT MYERS, Fla. - A Fort Myers woman will not faces charges after she left her mother's body inside their home for more than a year.
Authorities say they recently found the remains of Gladys Andrews inside the home she shared with her daughter, Gail Andrews. They discovered the remains, which were hidden by garbage and furniture, after days of searching.
They think Gail didn't call 911 when her mother lay dying because the two thought they would lose the house if police discovered its filthy condition.
According to The News-Press, Gladys Andrews fell about 14 months ago, and Gail Andrews couldn't lift her.
Gail Andrews isn't facing criminal charges, but her house is now condemned and might be demolished.
