YULEE, Fla. - YULEE, Fla. (AP) — Gov. Rick Scott has gotten a taste of shrimping.
The governor joined Capt. Mike Adams for some trawling on Wednesday aboard his shrimp boat Bag Boy out of Yulee.
They bagged 450 pounds of shrimp from Bells River and the Jolly River in Nassau County.
It was the latest of Scott's "Let's Get to Work Day," an idea the Republican borrowed from Democratic former Gov. Bob Graham. Scott's previous work days have included rounding up cattle on a ranch, handling baggage at an airport and working the counter at a doughnut shop.
Scott's day as a shrimper began at 4:45 a.m. with filling coolers with ice before leaving the dock. The governor then helped Capt. Mike deploy and bring in the nets.
