SPARR, Fla. - Officials at a Florida high school cancelled a few games after what appeared to be a small sinkhole opened on the baseball field.
The Ocala Star-Banner (http://bit.ly/10jG3a6 ) reports North Marion High School baseball and softball games were cancelled Wednesday after the hole was discovered near a sprinkler head in left field. Officials are calling it a "depression."
Supervisor of facilities Robert Knight told the Star-Banner that school safety officials will dig into the ground near the hole on Thursday to determine whether it's a full-blown sinkhole.
If it is a sinkhole, Knight says the school district may order a geological survey of the area.
