PORT ST. LUCIE - Gov. Rick Scott has directed that all state and U.S. flags be flown at half-staff in St. Lucie County in honor of a deputy killed on duty.
Scott issued the order for Monday. The flags that are to be flown at half-staff are at the County Courthouse, City Hall in Port St. Lucie and at the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office in Fort Pierce.
St. Lucie County Deputy Sheriff Sgt. Gary Morales was shot and killed on Thursday while making a traffic stop. His funeral is scheduled for Monday.
