LEESBURG, Fla. - A twin-engine aircraft crashed in a Lake County field Monday afternoon, killing one and injuring another.

Firefighters said they were called to the scene around 2:45 p.m. after a report that a 15-seat passenger plane had run out of fuel.

"There was some issue with the plane, but they tried to land in the pasture and hit some trees," Lake County Fire-Rescue Assistant Chief of Administration Jack Fillman told the Orlando Sentinel.

The survivor was airlifted to an Ocala hospital.

No names were released.

The National Transportation Safety board will investigate.
