Sean Daly's Fair adventure: food, alligators and the batcopter

TAMPA - The Florida State Fair's theme this year is "Discover the Fun."   Sean Daly took that to heart on ABC Action News this morning.   He gave us a taste of the new fair food, hung out with a white alligator and took a ride on the bat copter.  

Some highlight's from this year's Fair include:

• The celebration of the Fair's 500th anniversary of the arrival of Juan Ponce de Leon in Florida. Visitors can take a self-guided adventure through the Florida State Fair to learn about Florida's rich agricultural heritage.  
• The fair's agricultural exhibits showcase the finest produce, livestock and poultry from Florida.  4H and FFA members will show a variety of farm animals at this year's event, including steers, dairy cows, swine, goats, poultry, rabbits, sheep, llamas and dogs.
• The Fair has the largest independent midway in the country, with more than 100 rides for kids of all ages. New rides this year include:  Skyflyer - the giant swing is back by popular demand. This newly-refurbished ride raises, rotates and swings you 12 feet off the ground. Air Race - a simulated airplane flight that takes you through highs and lows. Get set to buckle up and take off!

Of course it wouldn't be a Fair without some crazy new food items.  You can try the new Pizza Cone,  an ice-cream cone shaped pizza crust filled with stringy gooey mozzarella, marinara and pepperoni for meat lovers.  Also new this year is the Burger with Red Neck Attitude - a fresh burger topped with cheese, bacon, fried bologna, baked beans and topped with potato sticks.

The Fair runs through Monday, February 18th.
