If you’re a driver, you’ve noticed that gas prices are on the climb, and according to analysts , the upward trend isn’t stopping anytime soon. However, tools like GasBuddy, a smartphone app, can help users cut costs and find the cheapest gas near them.
Free for iPhones, Androids, Window phones and many other mobile devices, GasBuddy users can use their phones or computers to login and look up gas prices by providing their city or zip code. However, to register, you must first go online to use the app on your phone.
The reference site uses information from a network of websites and users can also share cheap gas station locations that they’ve found.
Recommended stations can be sorted by price or distance under the pricing tab. Under the report tab, you can submit prices you see and publish the information.
Other benefits to using this reference website include weekly drawings for chances to win free gas cards. Under the GasBuddy tab, you will be able to view your earned points that get you into drawings by reporting gas prices. The Fumes tab tells you where the nearest station is if you are about to run out of gas.
So although gas prices are climbing, you can use this app to help give your pockets a break.
Here’s to technology that simplifies your life.
