TAMPA - A Facebook offer that will allegedly get you two free tickets on Southwest airlines is a scam, company officials said today.

"We are aware of the scam for two free tickets being spread across Facebook. This offer is in no way affiliated with Southwest Airlines and we are working with Facebook to get it removed," said Southwest spokesperson Christi McNeill in a statement.

The offer, which looks like a link in your news feed, is titled "Receive 2 FREE Southwest Airline Tickets Today!" There are also reports of the offer being spread by an application in comments.

Southwest is posting messages on Facebook and Twitter to warn customers about the scam. This offer, and others like it, are usually nothing more than scams that try separate you from your personal information or your money.
