SARASOTA, Fla. - A reward is being offered for information in the beating death of a Sarasota restaurant manager and one week after the beating, his girlfriend has strong words for his killers: "I hope you rot in hell."
Crimestoppers of Sarasota is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of the person or persons responsible for the death of Andrew Tian, the manager of the New Dynasty Chinese Restaurant in Sarasota, a reward that the restaurant said it will match.
Employees and witnesses say on July 14, Tian, 51, followed three men out of the restaurant after they skipped out on the bill. Tian was found a short while later in the driveway of a nearby business with severe head injuries. He was transported to the hospital where he underwent surgery.
Tian died on Friday.
Marylou Anderson described Tian as kind and gentle; a photographer who was a civil engineer in China. "He didn't have a flaw," said Anderson. "His flaw, that I've discovered only this week, is that he cared too much," said Anderson. "He cared so much about the restaurant."

Anderson said Tian came to America to give his son, a pharmaceutical student going to school in Gainesville, a better life.
Anderson said Tian underwent surgery for a severe skull fracture and she prayed for a miracle but he lost his life, all over 30 dollars.
"He would have given them the money," said Anderson. "If they said, 'we have no money' he would have given it to them. He would have taken the check and paid it."
Anderson hopes somebody out there knows something and will come forward.
The suspects are described as three Hispanic males in their 20s with short hair, between 5' 8'' and 6' tall, between 210 and 250 pounds.
One of the men has a pierced lip and eyebrow and another has a distinct rosary tattoo on his wrist and hand.
