TOWN N' COUNTRY - A man who tried to run away after crashing into a Town N’ Country medical building was found hiding out and arrested shortly after Wednesday morning.
The passenger who was traveling with the suspect was seriously hurt and trapped in the vehicle when the suspect fled the scene, officials say.
The crash happened at the corner of Marston Drive and Town N Country Boulevard around 3 a.m.
Deputies say the driver was speeding southbound on Town N Country Boulevard when the suspect forgot to negotiate a turn and slammed into the side of a Spinal and Medical Center, trapping the passenger.
The driver bolted from the car and ran away, but was later found a couple of blocks away hiding behind a dumpster.
He was brought back to the scene of the accident and officials attempted to administer a DUI test, but the suspect refused to take it.
The passenger trapped in the car was taken out and rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
The driver was arrested and faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving bodily injury and a possible DUI charge.
