TAMPA - Jared Michael Cano , who was arrested Tuesday after police discovered his plans to kill 32 people at Freedom High School , is a 17-year-old who was expelled from school a year and a half ago.
Cano has an extensive criminal record , including an arrest for carrying a concealed firearm.
On his Facebook page he claims to be single, and in some pictures appears to be smoking marijuana. He is seen holding a machete in another photo.
Cano has been charged with threatening to throw, project, place or discharge a destructive device.
He also faces charges for possession of bomb-making materials, cultivation of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, police say.
