TAMPA - This past week, the Tampa Bay area was in the national spotlight during the Republican National Convention.
Now - the question remains - what kind of long term effects will this kind of exposure have on the area?
Tampa Bay & Company's Vice President of Marketing, Doug McClain, joined ABC Action News in studio to discuss the convention's impact on local businesses.
While many hotels experienced a surge in room bookings, other businesses - like restaurants, told ABC Action News they were disappointed in the lack of customers.
One hugely successful effort - the Social Media Command Center organized by Tampa Bay & Company.
