TAMPA - On Tuesday, Ireland Nugent, the 2-year-old Palm Harbor girl who lost her feet in a lawn mower accident opened her eyes.
It was just 24 hours earlier the girl underwent her final surgery at Tampa General Hospital.
On her church-sponsored Facebook support page, a picture was posted with her mom and dad at her bedside.
Doctors amputated her feet just above Ireland Nugent's ankles and attached skin grafts to prepare the toddler for prosthetic feet on Monday.
Around 1:30 p.m., it was reported on the Facebook page that the surgery was complete and that all went well.
Ireland has undergone four surgeries since she was accidentally run over by her father on a riding mower at their home.
Family and friends have set up a Facebook page to keep people updated on Ireland's recovery progress: https://www.facebook.com/IrelandNugentSupport.
