TAMPA - Tampa Police have spent the day Wednesday searching for the suspects in a shooting that killed one person and injured two others.
Officers say the three victims were standing in front of one of the victim's homes at 2906 East 22nd Avenue around 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday night when a group of people walked up and fired at them.
The suspects then fled from the shooting scene to a car parked nearby.
"What we know at this point is that one of the victims was targeted. We do not believe this was a random act of violence," said Laura McElroy with Tampa Police.
When officers arrived they found 26-year-old Dexter Jermane Gardner dead and 41-year-old Thomas Causei seriously injured. A third victim, 26-year-old Bertran Sampson, received only minor injuries and was located in his nearby home.
Detectives have collected numerous bullet rounds and they are still working to compile the suspects' descriptions.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call the Tampa Police Department at (813) 231-6130.
