TAMPA - A judge has set November 4 as the tentative start date for the trial of Dontae Morris. He's accused of murdering two Tampa police officers.
Officers Jeffrey Kocab and Davis Curtis were shot to death during a traffic on July 29, 2010.
Morris then led multiple law enforcement agencies on a four-day manhunt before giving up.
The tentative trial date was set by Circuit Judge William Fuente. The proceedings will likely take place in Orlando with a jury selected from that area.
Whatever the outcome, Morris will remain in prison for the rest of his life.
Last March, he was found guilty of murdering Rodney Jones outside the Cotton Club in west Tampa in 2010. Morris was sentenced to life without parole.
