TAMPA - The Tampa Police Department's Tactical Response Team responded to a barricaded suspect call Saturday morning.
According to Lt. E. Vazquez, officers initially were called out in reference to a domestic dispute.
Pedro Luis Rivera, 44, reportedly ran to a detached garage located at 515 E. Floribraska Ave. and refused to come out.
Investigators say Rivera suffers from mental issues and is said to be under the influence of crack cocaine.
Area residents were evacuated, and Floribraska Ave. between Central Ave. eastbound and I-275 was shut down for hours.
At 12 p.m., Tampa police announced that Rivera was taken into custody without further incident.
Floribraska Ave. was then reopened to traffic.
