Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn will welcome the North Tampa Little League All Stars to his office Tuesday and congratulate them on their championship win in the Bronco-11 League World Series.
The team will be presented with letters of congratulations from the mayor at 5:00 p.m. The team of talented 11-year-old players were triumphant last month in Chesterfield, Virginia, winning the Bronco-11 Pony World Series Baseball trophy.
The New Tampa All Stars, who clinched the State title in with a 6-1 defeat over Kendall-Miami last week, are going to the Little League Southeast Regional Tournament in Warner Robins, Georgia today.
Palma Ceia/West Tampa Little League Softball All Stars are advancing to the Little League World Series in Kirkland, Washington next week to represent the Southeast after securing the regional title last week.
"I look forward to welcoming Tampa's winning teams back and congratulating them on a job well done," said Mayor Buckhorn. "These young players are continuing Tampa's great tradition of baseball. They have represented our city honorably with their hard work and commitment to success."
