Tampa man dies after crashing into pole

TAMPA, Fla. - A week and a half before his 48th birthday, a Tampa man lost his life in a single vehicle crash early Monday morning.

Authorities say George Daniels was driving northbound on Nebraska Avenue at a high rate of speed when he struck a median and lost control of his vehicle at East 26th Avenue.

The 1995 Acura Sedan hit an electric pole.  Daniels was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Detectives are investigating the accident.
