Tampa man, 43, accused of sexually abusing children

TAMPA - A 43-year-old Tampa man is accused of sexually abusing young boys, and investigators say two of them are under 12 years of age.

According to the Tampa Police Department, the acts allegedly occurred between July 7 and 14, but were reported to detectives on July 23.

Luis Torres was arrested early Saturday at his West Shore area apartment complex.

He faces charges including two counts of sexual battery on a victim under 12, two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim age 12 to 16, and one count of soliciting a sex act with a child ages 12 to 16.

Investigators say Torres was previously arrested twice in 1999 for similar crimes, but was not convicted on those prior charges.

As of Sunday morning, he was being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
