Tampa Bay's Dancing with the Stars cast revealed!

TAMPA - The cast for Tampa Bay's Dancing with the Stars 2012 has been revealed! It's an annual event put on by the charity Hands Across the Bay and benefits several bay area charities. This year is themed the "International Edition." Those in attendance can expect a spectacular night of dance performances inspired by cultures from around the globe.   

The cast, as pictured, includes General Manager of the Postcard Inn Patrick Brophy, Bay News 9 Anchor Veronica Cintron, Dennick FruitSource Owner Emily Filuta, Orthopedic Surgeon John Sulivan, ABC Action News Anchor Ashley Glass, WILD 94.1 Radio Personality Orlando Davis, Dornblaser Marketing Resources' Cyndee Dornblaser, Dentist Kristine Marshall, Pied Piper Productions Owner Corey Reina, Toyota of Tampa Bay's George Mantzaris and Pepin Distributing's Bill Gieseking. Also dancing, but not pictured, are Cece and Caycakes Owner, Jaimi Hovan and Philanthropist Kristin Levine.

Several local charities benefit each year from money raised at the event.

Celebrity dancers are paired up with professional ballroom dancers to perfect a routine over nine weeks.

Several ABC Action News anchors have participated in this event in years past including Wendy Ryan and Brendan McLaughlin. In offering advice to ABC Action News Anchor Ashley Glass who is competing this year, McLaughlin said, "Smile!  It’s easy to forget when you’re doing something unfamiliar and difficult. It also makes you look confident which is half the battle." Ryan said, "I t was a great experience. I was sore all the time because I was using muscles I never had before, but it was worth it and for a great cause!"
