TAMPA - For the first time in 80 years, the US World Cup team has come out on top of their group.
But without a dramatic goal from Landon Donovan in the last minutes of the game, fans in Tampa wouldn't have had any reason to celebrate.
Those fans, who we found at MacDintons in South Tampa, came out in droves to show their US price. They were loud, they had their faces painted and they wanted a win.
Around 700 people were at the popular night spot by 10am Wednesday morning, hoping for a goal.
Many of the fans were worried about being on camera since they were playing hooky from work.
"The boss understands you know, the boss understands," said one fan.
Joel Glauka went to MacDintons for the first time with his sister Elizabeth.
"I usually watch it at home, but it was unbelievable to watch it with other fans," said Glauka.
Glauka said he'll be back at the bar on Saturday to watch the US in the second round.
And as long as the US keeps winning, that means fans will keep coming out to MacDintons.
