Shots fired during robbery at Tampa gentlemen's club

TAMPA - A robbery at a Tampa gentlemen's club ended with tthree suspects getting away while exchanging gunfire with a patron and the security guard, police said.

The robbery occurred around 4:45 a.m. at the Playpen gentlemen's Club at 1715 North 50th Street.

The suspects walked into the club and one of them robbed a patron of his jewelry causing a struggle to break out. 

During the fight, the other two suspects shoved the door attendant and stole money from the cash register and a tip jar.

The security guard followed the men outside.  He was spotted and the suspects opened fire. The guard and another patron were both armed and returned fire.

The guard was grazed in the arm by a bullet, but he did not requirement treatment.

The suspects, all described as black males in the mid 20's,  got away in a newer model gray or silver Chevy Impala.

Three vehicles in the parking were damaged during the gunfire.  No other injuries were reported.
