TAMPA - Deputies are searching for a shirtless suspect wearing Gasparilla beads who broke into a Hillsborough county Courthouse Saturday night.

Officials say an unidentified white male in his 20’s smashed the glass door of the Courthouse Annex on 801 E. Twiggs Street to gain entry at 7:34 p.m.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating a burglary that occurred at the Hillsborough County Courthouse on Saturday night.

Shortly after he entered, he was discovered in the adjacent Edgecomb Courthouse by G4S Security.

The male was shirtless, wearing parade beads and appeared to be intoxicated.

Security escorted the male from the building with the intent of seeking medical assistance and having law enforcement investigate the incident, but the suspect fled before law enforcement arrived and he could not be found.

Video surveillance confirms that the subject was alone and no one else entered the building.  The subject caused approximately $500 in damage.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Debbie Carter says they plan to release video and/or photos Monday.

The investigation continues.
