Following two historic rulings from the Supreme Court of the United States on same-sex marriage, many supporters burst into cheers and some wept openly.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court read its ruling on the ‘Defense of Marriage Act” and struck down the federal law defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
Outside the Court, a huge crowed gathered. Many hugged and others jumped up and down. Hundreds could bee seen on their cell phones monitoring Twitter, news sites and blogs for word of the decision.
Chants of “DOMA is dead," “Thank you" and "USA" came from the crowd.
Tonight two rallies, so far, are planned in Bay area:

7PM: Federal Court House (The Sam M. Gibbons U.S. Federal Courthouse)
