TAMPA - Tampa police say a man failed to see oncoming traffic when he stepped into the path of a Jeep Wrangler Tuesday night.
The victim, a male in his 60's, was attempting to cross East Kennedy Boulevard near Tampania Avenue around 8:45 p.m.
The driver of the Jeep, Kathryn Symmonds of Tampa, did not see him until he was hit by the vehicle's left front.
The pedestrian suffered massive head trauma. He later died at Tampa General Hospital.
No charges were filed.
