MJ vs. Bubba trial: Todd Schnitt's lawyer arrested for DUI

TAMPA - The attorney representing radio personality Todd “MJ” Schnitt in his suit against shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge Clem was busted on DUI charges Wednesday night.

Charles Campbell, 64, was arrested on Cass St. E and Tampa Street North just after 10:00 p.m.

Officials say he refused to take a blood alcohol content test.

Campbell was released from jail on a $500 bond after 6:00 a.m. Thursday.

Campbell has been Schnitt's attorney since the trial began last week. 

Schnitt is suing Bubba for alleged defamatory statements against him and his wife Michelle. 

The lawsuit states that Bubba implied Schnitt's wife, a former assistant state attorney, pushed for animal cruelty charges after Bubba killed a boar on a live broadcast.

Schnitt claims Clem encouraged his fans to antagonize him and he says this ruined his reputation.

He is seeking more than $15,000 in damages.
