TAMPA - Authorities are investigating after a Tampa home that caught on fire around midnight was determined to be a marijuana grow house.

Fire crews responded to the blaze at 7019 N Willow Avenue to respond to the fire.

After the flames were extinguished, they found marijuana plants and notified the Tampa police.

When officers arrived, the residents gave them consent to search the home.

When police confirmed that it was a grow house, and confiscated 15 small plants that weren’t fully grown.

No one was taken into custody, but a woman was detained for questioning. It is believed the fire may have been sparked from an electrical overload.
