Man hit by car on Howard Avenue, car flees scene

TAMPA - A man is in critical condition at Tampa General Hospital after being hit by a car early Sunday morning, Tampa police say.

Vincent Lanci, 21, was crossing Howard Avenue near North A Street around 3:15 a.m. when a silver car struck him.

The car fled the scene, leaving Lanci suffering from critical injuries.

Tampa police are searching for a grey, Acura TL 2007 four door sedan. They believe it is missing it's right side mirror due to the collision.

Witnesses say they last saw the suspect vehicle heading north on Howard Avenue near Interstate 275.
