TAMPA - The civil lawsuit between radio personalities Todd "MJ" Schnitt and "Bubba the Love Sponge" is scheduled to begin in Tampa today.
Schnitt is seeking more than $15,000 in damages for "offensive and defamatory statements" Bubba is accused of making.
According to the lawsuit, it says Bubba has been implying that Schnitt's wife -- a former assistant state attorney -- pushed for animal cruelty charges to be pressed on Bubba -- after he killed a boar on a live broadcast.
The trial is expected to last about three weeks.
