Tampa, Fla- - Most women love shoes, but driving around town can cause the stylish shoes to scuff.
Two women in the bay area decided to do something about the common problem and invented a solution.
Anytime realtor Debbie Klatt drove to a house, more scuffs started to show up on her expensive shoes.
"What happens when you're driving, is you're using your foot on the break and gas and your constantly rubbing the back of the heel on the carpet and the floormat," Klatt said.
That problem became inspiration for an invention.
"We said this is a problem for us, so it must be a problem for other women out there," Klatt said. "What do you know it, two years later we have shoe angels."
Debbie, and her best friend Gia, are the brains behind My Shoe Angels. The product consists of small pieces of clear vinyl that protect pumps, flip flops, slingbacks, wedges, and even flats.
"You simply peel the protector off the card and you take your shoe and you simply place it on the back of the shoe," Klatt said.
The vinyl forms a barrier between the car mat and the shoe, so the protector is taking all the damage, so your shoe is staying clean and damage free.
The protectors sell for $19.95 online, but debbie says the investment is worth it to save money.
"In this economy it's going to save money," Klatt said.
The patent for My Shoe Angels is pending and the creators have big plans for the product. Stores and shopping networks are already interested.
Klatt is excited about the future, and encourages others that have small problems to pursue solutions, because they may turn out to be big money makers one day.
"Just go for it, that's my best advice," Klatt said. "Just go for it because you can create a fabulous product from a mere thought."
