UPDATE: Juvenile who escaped officer custody in Tampa found

TAMPA - UPDATE:

The juvenile who went missing early Tuesday morning was taken into custody a few hours later.

The male teen is a runaway juvenile who they were trying to bring back home, according to the Hillsborough county Sheriff's Office.

They were bringing him to a substance abuse center when he ran.

Officials say he was a victim in a double shooting along with another teen overnight ( http://bit.ly/TDQrFP ).

After getting treated at the hospital for minor injuries, he was taken to a rehab facility, when at some point, he got away from a deputy.

He has been returned to the facility.

Tampa officials are searching for a person who escaped law enforcement custody this morning.

The juvenile escaped about 5:30 Tuesday near I-275 and Waters Avenue.

Officials say the juvenile was in custody for a mental health issue, not a criminal issue.

Tampa Police are actively searching for the juvenile, and a K9 has tracked to the area of Bird Street near I-275.
