EATONVILLE, Fla. - A pack of rodents chewed through a fiber-optic line in Eatonville, cutting off phone access to customers across the Tampa Bay area just after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, according to officials at Verizon.

The company says business and home phones, along with cell phones and even cable were affected.

Crews replaced the chewed-up wire, and many customers had service restored by around 9:00 p.m.
