TAMPA - Mixologist Philip Raimondo stopped by the ABC Action News studios and showed Ashley Glass how to whip up a yummy holiday drink - Hot Buttered Rum!

You start out my making a batter with butter, brown sugar and holiday spices. Mix this with hot water for the original hot toddy or a nice drink for the kids or add your favorite spirit.

You can store this for over a month and it is great for entertaining so you don't have to be in the kitchen the whole night preparing drinks... put it in a crock pot and bring it in the living room.

It makes a great ice cream shake. And finally perfect for pouring over cake desserts....

Base recipe for the batter.

1 stick of salted butter

2 cups light brown sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon pumpkin spice (Cinnamon, nutmeg and clove)

Heat over very low heat until all is melted and incorporated. Store at room temperature.

You can also make it in a crock pot.
