TAMPA - It was a wizardly night for loyal Harry Potter fans across the world as the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2, opened in theaters Thursday night. But local “Potter heads” say their special moment was ruined at Centro Ybor’s Muvico theater.

Muvico theater lost power and customers say the film did not start until hours later

According to fans, theater officials didn’t communicate what was happening and many folks were left sitting in a hot auditorium with no air conditioning.

ABC Action News Facebook fan, Sara Henry says the night was a disaster.

“No one from management came to talk to us or advise us what was going on. People were upset,” Henry said.

Henry and her party of 10 entered the theater two hours after arriving at 12:30 a.m.

By 2:15 a.m., she says the film still hadn't started, so she  along with others, left the theater.

“My son was very upset and (we) left. We did not even try to stay in line to get our refund.”

Henry says the chaos and overall experience left a bad taste in her mouth.

“Never again will I go there.”

Centro Ybor Muvico was contacted, but offered no comment.
