TAMPA - Tampa Fire Rescue responded to an apartment fire after a neighbor made reports of smoke alarms sounding off early Monday morning.
The rescue dispatch was alerted about the smoking structure, located at 8220 N. Florida Avenue, a few minutes before 3:00 a.m.
When crews arrived, they observed occupants evacuating as the building filled with smoke.
Fire crews hooked a high rise to the building's water system in order to attack the fire and quickly extinguished a couch in a room on the second floor apartment.
Officials conducted two searches victims, but no victims were found. The sprinkler system was activated. The occupant of the affected apartment will be staying with friends while other occupants have re-entered their homes.
There have been no reported injuries. Tampa Fire Rescue investigators will be investigating.
