TAMPA - It's the day Bucs Head Coach Raheem Morris was handed the pink slip and the day after yet another Bucs loss. 620 WDAE The Sports Animal host Derek Sharp didn't have to wait long to hear from fans who wanted Morris gone.
"Nobody listens to Raheem Morris. Their uniforms are a mess, They don't look like they are a unit team. They just don't play. They look like they've given up," said one caller Monday morning.
RIght after the lopsided loss in Atlanta, Morris brushed off questions about his future in Tampa Bay. "I'm going to go to work tomorrow. It's not the time to talk about that type of stuff. That's for mental midgets. For us, we've got to go out and play football and do what we have to do."
For Morris, it didn't quite work out that way.
Sharp played the "mental midget" clip all morning long. "I love the phraseology, but Raheem, sorry man. It's kind of our job to speculate about your future. You could have helped your cause by winning a few games in the last couple of months."
The Bucs started strong this season, but fell apart finishing 4-12. But some fans aren't putting it all on the coach. They say he needed better players. "If they get rid of him and don't spend money and do what they need to do, I'm not going to be a season ticket holder," said a Morris supporter.
"Raheem won ten games last year, they didn't give him any veterans to plug any of the holes needed to succeed this year," said another caller.
The Bucs didn't wait very long when they fire Tony Dungy. He was let go just two days after a playoff loss in 2002. As for Jon Gruden, the Glazers took almost three weeks before he was fired in 2009. In Tampa,
