A Hillsborough County family safe haven is closing.
The Family Justice Center on North Florida Avenue in Tampa has been a staple in the Hillsborough County Community since 2006.
Late Tuesday night, the news was made public that the center no longer has the funding to service the community at the building.
Executive Director, Nikki Daniels, tells ABC Action News the center needed $200,000 dollars in one or multiple donations in order to keep the doors open, but it never happened.
Daniels says more than 8,000 families have been helped thanks to the Family Justice Center in the seven years it's been open. Literally becoming the difference in life or death for so many.
The center will close for good Wednesday, July 31.
While the Family Justice Center is closing, ABC Action News is committed to taking action against domestic violence. Please visit http://www.abcactionnews.com/dv for more information and resources on how you or someone you know can get help out of an abusive home.
