TAMPA - A strap holding a bundle of steel pipes broke, dropping the load and killing a man who was working in a ship's cargo hold.  Another man was taken to the hospital, and two others were uninjured in the accident.

The ship, Honesty Ocean, was docked at the Port of Tampa.

Mr. Hercules Gilmore, 56, along with three other stevedores with the International Longshoreman's Association were bundling the pipes for a crane to lift them from the hold.

The strap broke during a lift, and Gilmore was killed on the ship.

The other injured worker was taken to Tampa General with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Honesty Ocean is registered in Panama.
