YBOR CITY, Fla. - Ybor City is a part of the Tampa Bay area rich in history, culture, and known for its night life.
Known as the "Latin Quarter," a wide variety of cuisine is available just by strolling through the Historic District.
The Columbia Restaurant is one of the main culinary staples, founded in 1905 by Casimiro Hernandez Sr.
Visitors can learn about the history at the Ybor City Museum State Park , and browse eclectic shops and art galleries.
Founded by Vicente Martinez-Ybor as a cigar-manufacturing center, it is one of only two National Historic Landmark Districts in Florida. Red brick buildings, wrought iron balconies and narrow brick streets give it an old-world charm that is a refreshing change of pace from the beach and the mall.
Every Saturday, you can find fresh food and fare at the Ybor City Saturday Market held in Centennial Park (corner of 8th Ave and 19th St.). It runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from May to September, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from October to April.
Pets are welcome, and there's free admission and parking.

Sant'Yago Knight Parade (also known as Gasparilla Night Parade) - Usually held the Saturday following the Gasparilla Pirate Festival in late February
