TAMPA - The Tampa Theatre is celebrating its birthday on Wednesday with the unveiling of a new logo.
Theater officials say the new logo is part of a rebranding effort to showcase both the past and future of the 87-year-old Theatre.
“Tampa Theatre is a cultural icon in the community," said Jill Witecki, Tampa Theatre Director of Marketing and Community Relations. "With this rebrand, we wanted to showcase the Theatre’s historical importance, while also creating a brand identity that would welcome returning and new audiences for years to come."
Tampa-based branding and digital marketing agency, Sparxoo, who led the rebranding effort, wanted to make sure the new logo well-represented the Theatre.
“We fused the blade sign and bright welcome spotlights in an urban setting to capture the essence of the Tampa Theatre as a true icon in downtown Tampa," said David Capece, Sparxoo CEO. "It was an honor and privilege to work with one of the world's most spectacular theatres.”
Tampa Theatre officials say the rebranding effort is not finished.
Right now Sparxoo is helping to re-launch the Theatre's website to create a more user-friendly experience. The redesigned website should go live before the end of this year.
