The 10th IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championship continues at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in downtown Tampa Saturday, August 2nd from 9a.m. until about 5:40p.m. The event is free to attend and includes a parade of nations, world-class entertainment, food vendors and much more.

The races range from 200 meters to 2,000 meters. More than 2,000 athletes from 26 different countries will participate at the Tampa Convention Center on the Seddon Channel in downtown Tampa.

It has been nearly a decade since the United States hosted the World Championship.
ABC Action News contributor Sean Daly will be joined live by representatives from the dragon boat league, athletes participating in the race and he’ll head out on one of the dragon boats to see what it’s like to row in the race.
