TAMPA, Fla. - A suspicious package that triggered limited evacuations and shelter-in-place orders at the Straz Center in downtown Tampa on Sunday evening has been cleared.
According to Tampa Police, the suspicious package was reported on the north side of the Straz Center around 6:30 p.m.
Parts of the performing arts center and the adjacent Howard Johnson Plaza hotel were placed on alert for around two hours as a bomb technician and bomb squad robot examined the item.
An "all clear" was given around 8:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.
The contents and owner of the package have not been announced.
