TAMPA - A Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputy was thrown from his motorcycle after hitting a speed bump while escorting President Obama to the Port of Tampa.
Several deputies were helping the US Secret Service in the presidential motorcade, when the group suddenly came upon a large speed bump at Guy Verger Blvd and Barge Avenue.
Before the motorcade could slow, the motor units impacted the speed bump causing Deputy Chad Keen, 37, to be ejected off his motorcycle.
Deputy Keene landed on the pavement and received severe road rash and a possible dislocated shoulder.
Deputy Keene was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he is being treated and should make a full recovery.
The motorcade continued on its destination without stopping, escorting the President safely to his destination.
